We have some progress posted on our Supertech piston involvement for the 4A-G 20v. See it here!
We've changed our Shim Bank service to a shim exchange service. Check out the webpage for more information.
We now have access to Toda Racing's inventory of parts. This includes their amazing vernier adjustable cam gears. The most suggested parts are listed on our 4A-G 20v products page
We've recently struck a deal with Pro-Gram Engineering to produce for us some billet steel main caps for the 4A-GE engine. They are listed on our 4A-G products page.
We've recently struck a deal with Calico Coatings for both coated and uncoated bearings from ACL and Clevite. We also now have the capability to commission the coating of components. Calico has a coating for almost any application. Expect fun things in the future.
We've reoranized our 4A-GE parts stuffs. We're probably going to be working on it for a while, as our entire site is hand-coded. Please be patient with us, and report any broken links.
Every now and then we come across a business that blows us away. When we were looking for someone to make our new flowbench valve opening tools, Thompson Machine was suggested by more than one person, to good credit; Mr. Thompson is capable of making anything you could ask of him, and made quick work of our valve opening tool design. To see the end result, go to our Flowbench page.
We've placed our first order of K-1 connecting rods. These will have 45mm big ends and 20mm small ends. These will be OEM sized for engines with 42mm crankpins. Our next order will be sized for 40mm crankpins. We're exploring other connecting rod dimensions, so if you want something, contact us, and we'll try to accomodate.
We've got news on our connecting rod group buy from K1. Check it out!
We're working hard on becoming a one-stop-shop for all things 4A-GE 20v related, and providing quality parts for Toyota's power 4-cylinder engines. We've added ARP and Cometic to the list of goodies, and are working daily on being able to provide anything you could want for your Toyota engine. We can also get just about anything you could imagine for your project from a plethora of companies, all you have to do is ask.
We are now operating using the Google Checkout API. This offers us some advantage over Paypal. Hopefully this means advantage to you, the customer, as well. We will see! Expect to see changes on our products page, to include pictures of products, and better descriptions. Bear with us while we go through these changes, as well.
We added a bunch of Supertech stuffs to the inventory recently. We now have availability of parts for the 4A-G(Z)E 16v, 3S-G(T)E, 2ZZ-GE, and 1ZZ-FE. That is almost any motor you'll regularly find in an MR2, or any go-fast Toyota for that matter. Remember that we have availability of the entire Supertech inventory, so we can really get anything you want. If Supertech doesn't make it, we can get them to! Stay tuned, because we're going to be dropping some bombshell news soon.
Today pricing on our parts went up. A lot. There are a few reasons for this. First and foremost, we were advertising below our manufacturers minimum advertising price. We were allowed to do this because we were essentially a one-stop group buy. Our original group buy inventory is gone, and thus we would like to oblidge our manufacturers. Secondly, we need to stir up funding for R&D for camshafts, connecting rods, and pistons. We are trying to move forward as a business, and provide more benefit to the community. Just like communism, this isn't free. Someone has to pay for it. We have moved our pricing up to the minimum our manufacturers will allow us to advertise. If you find these products for cheaper, or products from manufacturers that we carry, please get a hold of us. Money to us is R&D to bring products back to you. Oh, and shipping in the United States is free now.
+EM is now a US distributor of CAT CAMS performance camshafts. We are working with CAT CAMS to provide the best camshafts for Toyotas, starting with our favorite: the 4A-GE 20v. That's right, folks! The US 4A-GE 20v market just got camshafts. Check back regularly, because we are working closely with CAT CAMS to provide some unique products for the 4A-GE 20v.
We've got a lot going on. First and foremost, there have been some changes to our connecting rod group buy. Visit there to find out more. Second, we've thoroughly expanded our reference material section. It's always a good idea to visit that.
We're working hard to put together a plethora of reference material on just about anything we can get our hands on. Check back often, because we're constantly updating.
+EM is working with R&R Racing Products looking for a producer to manufacture a short run of connecting rods. The goal is to have the lightest steel 4A-GE connecting rods that money can buy. Contact us to learn more.
+EM is now offering a 20v shim bank service. Want to set valve lash on your 20v? Don't want to go through the hassle of ordering up shims? We send you a shim bank to use to set valve lash. This bank contains a plethora of commonly sized shims. When you have set valve lash on your engine, return all shims you don't use. Use of the shim bank is $50. There is a core charge that is refunded upon the return of the shim bank. If you find yourself short a shim, that's okay, the charge for an unreturned shim is only $10.
We have a new manifesto and a new title. +EM is now refering to itself as a "community shop". We are no longer profit-driven. To be honest, we never made it to the profit-driven stage of our previous business plan.
The truth is, we are not business people. We are car people. We have a thirst for knowledge, and a desire to better the community as a whole. As such, we have a new business plan, with new practices. We will be discussing it further, but here's what it really comes down to:
Our 4A-GE 20v Supertech inventory should be in before the end of the month! This is the end state of some good cooperation, R&D, and fun!
We have moved to Kankakee, IL!
We have a new Test Mule at the shop. Toad is a 1987 Toyota AW11 MR2. It came with a 4A-GE Silvertop 20v. We'll be using it for dyno testing, etc for our 20v and chassis parts.
The website has undergone an overhaul. A VirtualBox installation of Windows XP and three days of coding later it is now Internet Explorer complient. Even though Internet Explorer is not Standards Complient. For those keeping track, Orion Engineered Motorwerks has been W3C validated since the beginning. Those visting this website from IE will notice a big red box at the top of the page. That's not going anywhere. We support Internet Standards and Open Source and you should, too.
+EM is now a Supertech vendor! We are working with Supertech to provide custom parts for the 4A-GE 20v engines, including valves, valvetrain components, and pistons! Check back for updates! Our inventory should be in by September 1st!
We now have a proper set of corner-weight scales and a datalogging accelerometer to further refine our street tuning process! Where other street tuners guess, we can show proper, quantified results!
+EM recently made purchase of a custom flowbench with electronic datalogging and calibration. This will allow us to offer services such as cylinder head porting and polishing as well as flowbench testing.
I've given the website a twice-over. We're now using PHP for twice the AWESOME!
This is the new home of Orion Engineered Motorwerks. Here you will find news about products, sporting events, and development. Please stop by for regular updates!
